2019 Chattanooga FBA Video Contest

The Chattanooga Chapter of the FBA would like to invite college students in the Chattanooga and Cleveland, Tennessee area to participate in its 2019 Civics Video Contest.

To participate, we ask that the students visit a federal court proceeding (we will furnish you with a link for the court calendar) and then produce a self-made video discussing what they observed, facts/research/statistics educating viewers about the proceeding, and their thoughts about how important the proceeding was to our system of justice. The videos may be made on an iphone, ipad, android device, or any type of video camera and with any type of video production app (or freestyle) so long as they can be submitted by email. The videos should be 3-4 minutes in length and should not contain any profanity or inappropriate materials. Please note that audio or video recording of the proceedings themselves is not allowed under court rules.

The deadline for submission is December 1, 2019. The videos may be made and submitted by individuals or teams of up to 3 people.

The videos will be judged by the following criteria:

  1. Substance of the presentation - Did the participants understand and appreciate the proceeding they observed? Did they provide unique thoughts or feedback about why it was important or what they learned? Did the participants include background data or research about the proceedings? Did the participants explain why the proceeding was important to our American system of justice?
  2. Quality of the presentation - Did the participants invest time and care in producing their video? Is it easy to view and hear and did the participants include creative concepts or ideas?
